Yes.... there are more....

I really HAVE been photographing my daughter the past 2-1/2 weeks.  I just haven't had time to process and upload them!!  Ahem, so it's been a little hectic, okay?!  ;)  No really I have to send a huge THANK YOU to my Mom, she and my Dad have been staying with us since right before Lila was born, and I would not have been able to hold my eyes open at this moment if it weren't for her.  She's made breakfast, lunch and dinner, cleaned our house, taken care of Parker, taken care of ME, and let Chris actually get some work done instead of being bombarded with all of the "helping out" on his own.  I secretly think Chris will miss her as much as I will, if not more!

 

And... we've had a breakthrough over the past couple of days!  Parker has relented it seems, and has been calling his baby sister by her real name for two days in a row!!  I'm so relieved.  I was just anticipating my little girl being confused about her name all the way until kindergarten.

He's already assumed the role of Protector, and has been keeping a watchful eye on her while she's in her carseat, so her tiny head won't flop over without Mama knowing about it... also putting her pacifier back in her mouth every time she spits it out in complete disapproval.  ;)  

Oh how I love that shot.....  she's lying in my dad's hands.  :)

And of course I'm on maternity leave... but I'm still here.  :)  I'm returning all phone calls and emails as soon as I'm able... albeit on a delay.... catch as catch can these days!  Thanks for bearing with me.

I also wanted to send lots of hugs and appreciation to each and every one of you who have sent us such sweet love notes and comments here on the blog... to our friends, family, and clients, my goodness... to all of y'all who have emailed or called to congratulate us!  We are so grateful for this much care and support right now, and we love you all dearly!  Of course, Parker has been highly anticipating the UPS guy's almost-daily visit to our door now too... so thank you to everyone who has been so sweet as to send presents for Lila, and to Parker!  I can't tell you how much it means to us.  :)  xoxoxox

Happy Father's Day BABY!

Yes... she's here!  Our little girl has arrived.  She's simply captivated us, and has melted all of our hearts!  Meet our newest darling....  Lila Kate Woods.

And she was the perfect Father's Day present for Chris... she was born on Sunday morning, June 15.  She also shares her birthday with her Papa Donnie.  And you can bet he was floating a few inches off the ground that day too.  ;)  I love this shot of my tiny Lila in his big hands....

Lila and I are both doing wonderfully, thanks to my amazing doctor, the angelic team of nurses who cared for us while we were at the hospital, and all our friends and family who drove 12-15 hours to be with us for her birth, and who are so generously giving of their time and talents to help us settle in.  You'll never know how much you all mean to us!  

Thanks again to my sweet friends Amy and Stacy, for coming over to "play" today.  I had sooooo much fun!  And I can't wait to see the gorgeous images you created for us!  We love you both!  xoxo

I'm officially too pregnant for this gig....

Yep.  I scared Grandma half to death when I climbed to the second floor of the kids' fort, trying to "get the shot".  Now photographers, tell me, was this sibling image not worth it?!  YOU would have climbed the fort too, right??  ;)

I admit, I'm a very "physical" shooter, as my clients have witnessed.... they've seen me climbing walls, perching tiptoe on chairs and ladders, lying on my tummy in the middle of the street (well, not in the last nine months or so!) sitting down in fire-ant infested grassy fields, straddling a bathtub or two (or three), the list goes on and on.  Given my history, I didn't even question climbing the stairs to sit in the fort with these three kiddos.  (And oh my goodness, they certainly kept me laughing!!)  The only downer was when the girls ran off to change clothes, and little Jack here ran off behind them.... I'm standing at the top of the fort yelling, "Um, Jack!  Hey buddy, can you come help me down from here???"  LOL!  So, yeah, I've officially reached my limitations while shooting client sessions.  Not bad though, for 8-1/2 months pregnant, eh?  ;)

Even the dogs were fun, jumping into the pond and everything.  As soon as I opened the door and walked into the Kennedys' home, this sweet St. Bernard lay right down on my feet.  What a lover.

I can't even TELL YOU how much I ADORE this next shot of all the kids together....  The girls' sweet giggle and their brother's "bleh, GIRLS!"-face just melt my heart!!  (Yeah, this shot was taken in the fort too!)

And one with Mom.  Can you see where these gorgeous kids get their looks?  They also inherited her totally relaxed attitude.  (Which I definitely appreciated, lol!)  It was so refreshing!

And possibly my favorite......  a perfect way to end a photo session, right?  :)

Did I mention how RELAXED this family was??  :)  I LOVED that Mom let the kids jump into the pool, clothes and all!  Look what sweet faces I got after the girls jumped out.....  priceless, I tell ya.

Yep, another sweet newborn!

I can't get enough of 'em! This little guy was as good as gold for me. Made the funniest faces and kept me laughing the entire session.... when I wasn't smiling and sighing at him, anyhow. ;) Makes me so anxious to meet my soon-to-be-here little one!

So here's little Benjamin.

I can't stop giggling at this one. I'm sure he was thinking.... "Why did this lady put me on a chair?!" LOL!

Really, I can't stop staring at this next image.... I always fall for the shots with Mommy. Why? Because usually Mamas are the ones behind the camera, getting all the shots of their own little ones and those treasured moments they want to remember. But for me, it's a true thrill to give a Mother an image of her child that she's actually IN! So that her child can look back on it some day, and see just how much his Mama loved him at that very moment. The look on her face and the love in her hands. Ahh, gives me chills.

(Oh, and by the way.... can y'all tell that this pregnancy is making me even gushier and more sentimenal than usual?! ;) And I was bad already, lol!)

I know they're going to be wonderful parents. Just look. How can you not smile seeing this one?? :)

Mom and Dad, I had so much fun with you and your sweet little guy. And I hope you love your images!

What a beautiful couple. I felt so comfortable in their home. We shared laughs, pregnancy stories, and had a lot of fun shooting their maternity session. But I must say, it's completely UNFAIR that a woman would look this fabulous just days (did I say DAYS?! yes.) before giving birth. (Please Lord, grant me the same blessing, lol!) Anyhow, please meet Jackie and Ben.... while they were Two. :)

And my faaaaavorite. :) I loved the dramatic lighting in their bedroom!

This is Hailey. Her mama owns a local coffee shop in Dunedin, with whom I'm working on a project at the moment. We went out and had a little session a few Saturdays ago, and brought some yummy snacks along with us! And YES, can you believe MORE COLOR from me?! But these photos just *screamed* COLOR to me.... and, like I tell my clients, I don't have the heart to convert to black-and-white in some instances! I hope you'll understand once you see these. ;)

Bits and pieces.

Most of you know that when I'm photographing newborns, some of my favorite images to capture are the *tiny* ones. And by that, I mean itty bitty baby parts. Slender fingers, wrinkly toes, ears, the folds of her neck, the fuzz on his shoulder. So, in celebration of all these sweet newborns I've seen recently, take a peek at some of my favorite "detail shots"........

I love photographing maternity sessions. It's such a privilege for me to be able to be a tiny part of documenting this life that's forthcoming. And soon! Baby Carley should make her entrance into this world within a couple of weeks now! For now, here are some images of her beautiful mama....

"Delicious" is the word his Mama used to describe this little guy... and boy was she right. I just wanted to eat him up!

I admit, I was a little worried because he had passed the 2-week "curl-up-easy-and-sleep-a-lot" magic age, but I'm tellin' ya.... this little guy curled and slept like a champ. I had no reason to worry, that's for sure!!

Fresh.

One of my favorite things about this wonderful job of mine, is getting to photograph such sweet new life such as this. Meet baby Aidan, who was only 5 days old when I had the privilege of photographing him. He was actually over 8 lbs, but look how tiny he looks in his Daddy's hands!

Ohh and I have lots more.... ;)

Blessed beyond measure.

I have had the privilege of having Laura as a best friend for, oh, about 25 years! I really can't remember when we met, of course it was when we were little kids... but it just seems like I've known her since birth! I can't remember NOT knowing her. We have had SO much fun through the years. Our birthdays are on the same day, one year apart. So we had lots of birthday parties together. We've kept in touch no matter where life has taken us... my moving all over the country, our weddings, the birth of four (soon-to-be five!) babies, and everything that comes afterwards. We're really "kindred spirits", as Anne of Green Gables would say. :) I can remember hanging out in her bedroom drinking Coke from a glass bottle, calling up the local radio station to request our favorite New Kids On The Block hits (LOL!), dancing, teasing our bangs, and modeling for the camera like we were ready for the cover of Teen magazine. (Yep, I have a few early photos that I found at my Mom's house... my "budding photography career" at age 14! Remind me NEVER to share those embarrassing shots with you, by the way.) ;) Whew, the flashbacks! And the big hair!!

We still joke about all those summers we spent together... especially the bean patch. ;) Since she had a pool and we didn't, we'd get calls during late summer like this one... "Hi Stacey, do you and your sisters wanna come over and swim tomorrow? Good! Well, we gotta pick beans first....." :/ That stinker. She just wanted six extra hands to help her in the string bean patch!!! And I'm afraid we weren't very much help either.... bean-pickin' just wasn't my thing. Good thing there was a hammock about 10 feet from the edge of the garden.

Anyway, when I was in KY a few weeks ago, I got the chance to hang out with her family and photograph them again. All five of them this time, not just her three beautiful daughters! Take a look..... sort of a "day in the life." Without the bean patch. :)

Then we headed out in the SNOW!

*sigh* They're growing up so fast on me. I remember when they were born, when they were babies, and when they were toddling around. Now it's swim meets (gold and silver medals for these girls, by the way!) and preteen stuff. I don't wanna even know about the boys. Don't even tell me!!

Yep, COLOR from me. I couldn't resist, what with all their gorgeous "bundled-up-ness" and all...

And what better way to warm up... than with a nice warm BUBBLE BATH?!

"Mommyyyyyy!!!" ;) The littlest one needed a towel every time bubbles got on her chin.... which was every 5 seconds, LOL!

This last one just tugs on my heart.... what sweet bliss.

I'm so proud of and happy for you, Laura, my sweet friend. Your life has been blessed so richly. I love you to pieces, and I hope you enjoy my little peek into your life... your fun, crazy-happy, laughter-filled morning with your family. XOXOXOX

Baby Aubrie is likely one of the most adored babies around. And what a good little girl she was for me!! I got so many good shots of her sleeping soundly that day....

And I couldn't resist a few sweet detail shots. Oh, it's these tiny details that I adore so much!!!

Okay, last but not least... this has become my latest FAVORITE image.... remember sweet Brynne? She's Aubrie's big sister!! And what a fabulous sister she is. Brynne was my assistant this particular day, and my heart just melted every time she would touch her sister sweetly and whisper, "I love you, Aubrie!!!"

If Mom and Dad don't order a big canvas of this, then I will. Ha ha!

"It's an honor."

Those were her words. We were shooting her maternity session, and talking about the miracle of carrying a life inside your body... And she said, "It's an honor." She's right. You know, those words have stuck with me ever since her session. And I think about them every day. Whenever my morning (ahem, all-day) sickness kicks in, I remember Amy's phrase and it helps me deal with it. She doesn't know this of course (well, until now!) but I just wanted to give you a little idea about the sweet spirit of the woman I just photographed. :)

Sooo much love!

I got the opportunity recently to meet the sweetest couple, and their fabulously-adorable 4-year-old daughter! What a lucky little baby this will be, my goodness. Yep, I have a new girlie to show off in my blog banner above!! ;) You might recognize some of these photos from my website, but I have NEVER shared them on the blog! Why not...? Who knows, I went out of order back in the fall and skipped these somehow! Shame on me, huh?

Anyhow, this gorgeous gal is my oldest neice, Kyndall. Isn't she BEAUTIFUL?! For her birthday, we tromped all over the North Carolina countryside (and then downtown for some neat urban stuff!) and had sooo much fun shooting and modeling and laughing all over ourselves. (Well, okay... so she was laughing at me most of the time, truth be told!) But we had a blast. And we got a gazillion to-die-for images from our afternoon. Wanna take a peek?? Yeah, I knew you would. ;) Grab a cup of coffee first though... this post is a BIG one!!

Beautiful Life...

I love the opportunity to photograph an expecting mother. It's a time that's so special and so fleeting. (Although at 8 months and counting, I certainly know that time does not SEEM fleeting! It seems to drag on forever, doesn't it?!) Anyhow, I had the chance to photograph Kilty and her husband Robert, and I'm telling you... this is going to be one lucky child, to be surrounded by so much love. They were the sweetest couple, and you could just see them beaming when the other walked into the room. It was such an honor to witness!!

Doesn't she have the most perfect tummy?? I can tell where the little guy/gal is lying in this shot... can you? Isn't that amazing? New life never ceases to make me stop for a moment, and just be thankful. :)

Aren't they sweet? And I adore her laugh... so spirited, and so genuine. She really just lit up every time Robert got near her. It was precious to watch!

I looooooove this last image.... just love it to pieces! I'm a "simple" girl, and I love the lighting and simplicity of this photograph.

I have so many more! But you'll have to bribe Kilty to show them to you once I get her gallery posted online... lol! ;) I'm sooooo glad she booked my baby plan. I get to photograph their precious newborn next month! Can't wait to meet you, little one!! XO

Three girls.... and a stallion!!

Well there's a title that'll grab ya, huh? ;) I had SOOOO much fun at this session..... These girls were up for any crazy idea I threw at them... and a billion stops around downtown Clearwater, too! From the courthouse steps, to some funky garage doors, to lying in the middle of a field... which, incidentally, is where we came upon the horse!! Well, okay, the horse actually happened upon us. I was shooting this with Brooke....

and heard Morgan say, "Oh my gosh, look at that horse!" I looked behind me, and there was a HUGE majestic animal just parading out of his trailer, at the other end of the grassy field we were in, preparing to draw a carriage in a wedding later that evening! I was so glad his owners let us "borrow" him for a few shots... can you believe this?!

I was honored to photograph these girls and their mama. I have almost been in tears proofing through these, I'll admit! Maybe it's the pregnancy hormones, maybe it's cause it's almost Christmas and I miss my own Mom, but maybe, just maybe, it's the sweet smile on Lori's face as she holds her daughters tight.... that just gets me... right... here..... :)

I completely LOVE that gate....

And possibly my favorite shot from the evening.... I have to say I felt very "Tara Whitney-ish" shooting this one!! :) (Double-click on it to lose the "scrunched-up-ness".)

I just had the privilege of photographing Miss Ella on her 1st Birthday!!  And what a perfect little angel she was.  Really a dream to photograph!

Mr. Expressive

I have to introduce you to Zach... he just stole my heart!  :)  Sooo many funny, sweet, warm, and downright hysterical faces that boy had!!  He and his Mama met me at the park for a session this past weekend, and I don't know which one of us had more fun!  (Well, minus those fire ants....  gotta love living in Florida!)  We ran through the grass, climbed on forbidden trees, ;) played in the surf, and even drew in the sand with sticks.  Ahh, little boys are so much fun!  He's one of the sweetest little guys I know.  And he LOVES his Mama, that's for sure!  Just take a look at some of their precious moments together.....

Rocker Chick!

I had the extreme pleasure of photographing an entire family of artists today!!  Patty is a PHENOMENAL stylist in Clearwater, and Scott is in an AMAZING rock band (on his way to a show in NY soon!).... even little Seaira is a budding singer, songwriter and musician!  "Soup and sandwiches, soup and sandwiches..."  (She sang that particular "Seaira-original" to me today!)  ;)  And she can sing the Alphabet Song like nobody's business!  With drum accompaniment, I might add!  Lucky girl.  See for yourself....

Okay... so I really loved Seaira's drum set.  :)  Yep, these are hers!  What a cool family, huh?

Three....  it's a magic number!

And so you don't think I've *totally* strayed away from my usual black-and-white stuff..... here ya go!  :)

.....I simply cannot tell you how much I ADORE that image.  It just speaks to me!  What can I say.... this cool family inspired me to inject a little more color into my processing this time!!  :)  But I promise... I'll have lots more of my signature, dramatic black-and-white images to show you!!

Oh, the scrumptiousness!

Sweet Siblings

I had the utmost pleasure of photographing this sweet family while in North Carolina this past weekend!  Baby Colin is 5 months old, and he was soooo very good to me that day.  No crankiness, whatsoever!!  He was a trooper, and so photogenic.  Of course, Miss Kennedy was a DREAM the entire time.  And just wait until you see her!  She's simply gorgeous!  She was so sweet to Colin, even when he pulled her hair over and over!  ;)  Ahh, the joys of having a little brother....

Holiday Mini Sessions are here!

Can you believe it.... it's already fall (well, as much of fall as we get here in Florida!) and it's time to start thinking about the Holidays approaching!  Stacey Woods Photography has some exquisite Holiday cards to offer this season, sure to please even the most discriminating of tastes. 

Limited Edition Holiday Mini-Sessions (a new item!) will be offered only from October 18-20 (Thurs-Sun), to ensure that we get that perfect card image for your family.  Mini-Sessions will last a maximum of 30 minutes, and cover up to four people.  ($25 per additional person.)  These unique sessions are priced at $155 and include the session fee, one 8x10, plus one set of 24 custom-created cards for the season.  (If you'd like to order additional sets of cards, you may do so from the a la carte pricing menu.)

*Deadline for full, regular Custom Sessions for Christmas cards/Christmas delivery is Thursday, November 1.  Final deadline for all orders to be placed for Christmas cards/Christmas delivery is Saturday, November 10.

Something NEW is coming!!!

Yay, I'm getting a new website!  Please make sure you check back in often so you won't miss it.  (www.staceywoodsphotography.net)  It should be "live" next week!  I'm soooo excited, as this will showcase my work so much better than my current site.  It will also have a direct link to this blog, and a "feature" section that I'm tickled to pieces over!  (Where I can showcase an entire recent session for everyone to see!)  It will also have a "news" section where I can let you know about upcoming specials, collections, and exclusive sessions that I'm offering.  Probably one of my most favorite features of this new site is the amazing SLIDESHOW that you will automatically see when you click on any of my galleries...  and on the home page and several of the other sections, for that matter.  Can ya tell that I'm thrilled???  ;)

Thanks so much for your support... my clients mean the world to me, and I'm so thankful for all of you who are here for me!  I hope my new site makes being a client of Stacey Woods Photography just a little bit more exciting, and much easier too.  :)

And....what's a post lately without a birthday shout-out?!  lol   "HAPPY BIRTHDAY ABBY!!!"  My "other" sister.  :)  I just so love ya to pieces!  I wish we lived closer so we could hang out more.... can't wait to see you next week though!  XOXO
